Easter Eggstravaganza at the Lake

Click to enlarge this picture, you've gotta see the tongue!

Ella asked to get on first and then smiled and jumped....then immediately started crying and wanted off :(

There's Rowan getting strapped in, and Nathan and Marlene in the background.

Rowan really liked it, but you couldn't tell.....Mr. Stoic.

Mr. Dapper Dude :)

Ella's Easter Headband

Ivy's Easter Headband

The kids sick again at Easter time.  I just bought the tickets for the Egg hunt and petting zoo at the lake tomorrow and we might not be going.  Ella's first Easter she had the Rotavirus.......Ella's 2nd Easter and Ivy's 1st, they BOTH had the Rotavirus!  So this year I thought we'd be going for sure.  Ella had pink eye 2 weeks ago, Mark had a bad cold last week.  Rowan got pink eye bad, last week and the cold......the Dr. gave us refills on the eye drop's "just in case".  Well, I woke up with the cold yesterday, and Ella woke up with it today.  All three took a 3 hour nap today, and woke up even sicker :)  Ivy woke up with pink eye and said she feels something that hurts in her throat.  So, we'll see about tomorrow in the morning.  After nap we pulled out the sleeping bags and put in a movie, they all watched that movie in complete silence for almost 2 hours...(Jungle Book)

Picnic

You can barely see the picnic, but our resident bag lady packed up the tea set and snacks of string cheese and put it in the grocery cart and off they all went down the street.  They put down the checkered napkins, sat down and were ready for their snack.  So cute, so funny to see.

So, 6am this morning, still dark outside....I roll over to face the outside of the bed.  I turn over and 3 inches from my face is Rowan standing starring at me, not moving just starring!  How LONG has he been standing there?????  And, he was holding a bag of instant oatmeal :)

Moving along....we're getting better with each one. But, the biggest thing we learned today was to take the mold off at about 2 mintues, doing this means the edges haven't had a chance to stick to the mold, which made them a little weak and crumbly when we take it off. Gosh, it took long enough to tweak that and the cement/rock ratio!

Crazy Concrete! This conrete is so strange, I just did both of the molds.............on one you can see how many rocks are in every bag. I mixed them both the same, the top one actually has the smoothest look out of all of them....but I could not for the life of me smooth out the bottom one and get the rocks to settle. It's not that the rocks aren't attractive, just that it makes it so hard to smooth them out and make each mold look similar to the last one. We're on our way to Home Depot to buy some portland cement (like Dad recommended:) and some sand and we're going to mix our own. We're going to have to mix it in to the bags we already have because we've already lugged them in from the car, and the mold takes a full 60lb bag....easy to measure since we only have one mold right now. We're playing with this side and we'll get the color and consistency down by the time we get near the patio door. Right?

"Bye Mamma!" I asked them where they were going, and the answer was "To High School". They went to the end of the street and came back, because "The school was closed, and they didnt have the key!" Ella actually said they sent everybody home after show and tell!

Concrete work on the backyard.

Ivy in her "Tina Turner" wig from Grandma!

Last year I planted ONE little 6 pack of these daisies...I had wished I bought more. This year I didn't plant one and look how many are here!! They're even in other areas of the front yard.

Rowan in the Hospital March 2012

He kept asking me to sleep with him :)

The girls came but because of RSV season couldn't go up, so I got to come down and have dinner with them.  They had pre-school that morning, and Ella did her own hair for the day!  The shirts they had on were put on backwards :)
